Research Centres

Certain research and post-graduate study at the Technical University is carried out in close collaboration with other institutions and is performed within the framework of joint research centres.

CIP – Centre for Industrial Production

Within JTH’s research profile area of Industrial Production is the ongoing development of the research centre CIP in cooperation with Chalmers, KTH and a group of companies with specialisations in small and medium size enterprises.  The research at CIP handles, in particular, issues regarding resource effectiveness in connection to customer-driven production in small series.

CIC - Casting Innovation Centre

Within the research profile area of Component Technology at JTH a large portion of the research is carried out in close cooperation with the research institute SweCast AB (The Swedish Foundry Association) in Jönköping and a group of industrial companies within the frame of CIC.

CRE – Centre for Robust Electronics

Within the research profile area of Intelligent Products at JTH the research is dedicated to how the pure constitution of electronics can be built into products so that the electronic system becomes robust and able to survive harsh environments.  The research is carried out in close cooperation with the research institute Acreo AB and in the frame of the joint Centre for Robust Electronics (CRE), located in Science Park Jönköping.

CenIT - Centre for Evolving IT in Networked Organisations

The research within the profile area of Information Technology at JTH is carried out with the International Business School at the joint centre CenIT.  The technological research focuses on informational logistics and model-based software development.

Project group Fraunhofer ISST 

Fraunhofer ISST in Berlin has established a project group at JTH that collaborates with the research profile area Information Technology and is located in the centre CenIT.  The project group works with research and development assignments within the same area applicable to the profile area of Information Technology.
